About

Hi, I’m Sam!

I am a mom to my spunky 5 year old daughter, Raegan, and curious baby girl, Noa; a wife to my handsome hubby, Shane; a Toddler Montessori Guide, with AMI 0-3 training; and a new Homeschool mom for my Kindergartener. I have always had a love for children, and during my senior year of college, I stubbled upon Montessori Education through an internship. I quickly realized that Montessori wasn’t just a career I wanted to pursue, but a lifestyle that I wanted to live. I then applied for the Assistance to Infancy (0-3) Montessori training program in Denver, CO. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin – Madison, I left my family and boyfriend in Wisconsin and headed to Denver for the summer. Two weeks after my program started, Shane and I found out that we were expecting a baby (this was a HUGE surprise). Our lives were turned upside down, but we were beyond excited!

Raegan entered the world in February 2015. She was 9.5 lbs of pure beauty and perfection, and we fell in love with her instantly. For my second summer of training, we ALL (even the dog) headed to Denver and daddy got to spend three very special months with Raegan, while we lived in a hotel. I finished my training in the summer of 2015, and continue my work with children in a Toddler Community at a Montessori school in Madison, Wisconsin in August of 2016, after 7 years of dating, Shane and I had a beautiful wedding with our little Raegan by our side. A few years later, we’ve added a golden retriever, Reign-bo Smooch, and another baby! Baby girl Noa was born right smack dab during the COVID-19 panDdemic. After Noa was born, I decided to step away from teaching to stay home with both of my girls and homeschool our kindergartener to keep things as consistent (and healthy) as possible during the COVID craziness. We are very excited to start this new adventure together.

My Passion: Yes, I have a huge passion for teaching and Montessori. But, what I love most is being a mom.  In addition to bringing Montessori into our home, we have adapted a natural parenting style. Parenting outside of the “norm” isn’t alway easy, but we have found it to be the best fit for our family’s needs. However, I am fully aware that every family has their own individual needs, priorities and circumstances, so there is NO JUDGMENT HERE!

BUT I am here to share my parenting experiences and Montessori knowledge with you! So please enjoy and feel free to comment or email thebuddingseed@gmail.com with any inquiries.
